Tarina Tarantino Is Now At Sephora

Tarina Tarantino has launched a makeup collection with Sephora, inspired by her jewelry line.

I have to say, however, I'm not really liking the packaging that much.

The eyeshadows ($19):

The lipstick ($22):

The packaging reminds me a lot of Hard Candy (it's old packaging) and Stila, which I really have a gripe with. If I'm going to spend around $20 on a single product, I want it to look like I spent that much, but these just kind of look cheap to me. Idk, maybe they need to be seen in person....

Not all is bad however. The lipsticks and eyeshadows have a fairly good selection in terms of shades. And I did see a few things that caught my eye:

The cream eyeshadows ($19):

The shimmer dust ($39):

And the brush set ($69):

Overall, I think that it's more of a novelty brand than a high quality makeup brand. If you're into brands like Anna Sui and Bourgois I think that you might like this. Personally, I think it's a bit overpriced.

  1. I was hoping to see more colorful packaging like some of her jewelry collections but I also think this is really pretty. It does not look cheap at all, my friend who has a beauty blog went to the launch in NY last month. She has some product and it looks really good in person. The eyeshadow is really pigmented and smooth. The packaging is not "novelty" at all. The crystals are so sparkly, looks very expensive. I think the prices are not so bad, you get a lot of shadow in the compact....

  2. Yeah, I was wondering how they'd seem in person. I think that with makeup, I'm not really a fan of plastic silver, which is what put me off right away, like with the Stila packaging. I'll see if I can get a chance to check them out. I live in CT, and the Sephora in my area doesn't carry many of the brands.

  3. I have to agree with you. Something about the packaging screams cheap. I think maybe it's the color scheme...pink and silver!?
